Report: Shopping For Electronics Is A Drag
Despite falling prices and the increasingly consolidated retail space, consumers still despise shopping for consumer electronics, according to a new survey commissioned by online shopping site Retrevo.

Almost 90 percent of respondents told Retrevo that CE retail's reliance on product specs and reviews has made the process more complicated than it needs to be, adding that the industry's love affair with technical jargon ("Full HD" anyone?) just adds to the confusion. What's more, the selection at most stores remains almost mind boggling, with products and models from a range of companies offering almost too much choice for buyers.

Most shoppers, the survey found, walk into the average CE retailer worried that they'll buy the wrong thing or end up paying too much.

“Electronics are an integral part of every person’s daily life, but the rate of change has outstripped people’s ability to make sense of what’s available and what best meets their needs,” said Retrevo CEO Vipin Jain. “This research indicates a very large, ready and willing market for something better than the status quo today."
